Nikesha Patel to star opposite G V Prakash in her next

'I enact an IT executive's role in the film and my role is the soul of the movie's comic aspect. G. V. Prakash and I shot a yoga sequence on the first day of the film's shoot, and guess what? He is much adorable in person than he is on the screen. And his comic timing is fantastic!' said Nikesha about her co-star. The actress also holds the director Ezhil in very high regard. 'I've approached Ezhil sir for many projects before and this one has finally worked out for me. Ezhil sir is extremely calm and certainly a very hard-working director,' she said. Nikesha was seen last with Aravind Swami in Bhaskar Oru Rascal, which released last year. The actress has lost weight now and is also busy with Kannada films. ... Literature, Left & Lost Compassion

It filled the air with fantastic new ideas, poetry, songs, drama, novels, plays. I don't think that kind of renaissance by the Communist party happened anywhere in the world.' He further said, 'Congress isn't much different in terms of being anti-democratic, anti-secular. We were never in a good place in the last 60-70 years. Even the politicians we entrusted are crooked.' The main characters of his novel, Lord Spider and JL Pillai, are an attempt at changing 'the ideas about patriotism, love, compassion — all the things we take for granted,' he says. Years ago, this novel began life as a chapter in Malayalam on a little boy growing up in Communist Kerala, but the story changed eventually. That story he's still writing in his mother tongue. The Gospel according to Paul 'More than a foray into English, the foray was into writing a large novel,' said the Malayalam novella, short story and essay writer about his first novel in English and his longest piece of fiction, which was brewing for 12 years but was written over six months. Editor Karthika VK, who, according to Zacharia, hacked some 40,000 words, said, 'The original was about twice the size.' The conversation, moderated by independent journalist Aditya Mani Jha, with historian Romila Thapar and poet K Satchidanandan, also had Karthika recount an episode when Zacharia was engrossed in reading aloud from his book while poet-lyricist Javed Akthar, sharing the stage, was whistling and tapping his fingers. 'Javed was irritated because his fans weren't responding properly. In fact, I didn't exist for him,' said the good-humoured Zacharia. ISL 2019: We wanted to win this title badly, says Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri

Bengaluru had last year lost last year's final to Chennaiyin FC. 'Last year after the final, I said next year we'll come back. Right from the ball boy to Carles (Cuadrat - the coach), everyone wanted this. We wanted to win it (the title) badly. When you lose the way we did last year, it's sweet to win this one. Asia, we are back,' Chhetri said at the post-match media conference late Sunday night. Reactions to Bengaluru's maiden title win Now by winning the ISL, Bengaluru FC will play in the AFC Asian Cup next year. Chhetri also said it was 'commendable' that a player like Ferran Corominas, who bagged the Golden Boot award, did not get any chance against his team on all the three occasions when the two teams clashed. 'The message from the coach was that we should try to attack but as soon as we lose the ball, we should fall back and defend and have numbers (at the back). For players like me, Miku and Udanta (Singh), it was not easy because we are attacking minded people,' Chhetri said. 'I am happy we did it because Nishu (Kumar) and (Harmanjot) Khabra got that security when Udanta and I traced back. It is commendable that a player like Coro (Corominas) did not get open chances against us in three games,' he said. 'Last year, we conceded off set pieces and we were dominant until those two goals, so we were sure on not letting it happen today,' he added. Asked where he would rate this win, Chhetri quipped, 'Top-two. Number 2.' The winning coach Carles Cuadrat said that the team was trying not to take the game to the penalties as then it can be anybody's game. 'We were trying not to get into tie-breaker as it then becomes a lottery a lot of times. We are happy that one ball in the box gave us the victory. This is the seventh goal done by a set-piece and it shows how important set pieces are in the game,' Cuadrat said. Meanwhile, FC Goa coach Sergio Lobera termed Ahmed Jahouh being sent off the field after earning a red card as the key moment of the match. 'The key moment was when were reduced to 10-men in the first half of extra time. It was a very tight game was going to be a matter of small details and the sending off was a big handicap for us,' Lobera said. Despite the loss, the FC Goa head coach said he was 'proud of his players'. 'Till today, we were focused today only on this game (the final). From tomorrow onwards, we will start working towards the (upcoming) Super Cup. I said to my players in the dressing room that I am proud of them and (what) they have done in the season. 'I am thankful to the players and they have been very professional. It is sad that we cannot take the trophy to Goa,' he noted. Meanwhile, Lobera's name has been 'linked to' the vacant India coach job and specifically asked about it, the Spaniard said, '(It is) always nice to be linked to a national team of a great country like India, but I have one more year contract with FC Goa.' Punjab: SGPC faces flak over demolition of 175-yr-old gurdwara entrance gate

The SGPC has now claimed that the structure was demolished without its permission. However, it has not filed any police complaint against Jagtar Singh and his men. The body has suspended gurdwara manager Partap Singh for not reacting to situation. In response, Partap Singh claimed that he was receiving phones calls from a political leader to allow the demolition. The SGPC had passed a resolution to repair the entrance in August 2017. Then it passed resolution to demolish it in July 12, 2018. SGPC general secretary Gurbachan Singh Karmuwala and Jagtar Singh also symbolically started demolition on September 12, 2018. However, SGPC passed another resolution October 18, 2018 saying that the proposal to demolish entrance gate was pending for further discussion. 'Goons kept demolishing the building for two hours. Some youths also got minor injuries as goons attacked them for opposing demolition. No SGPC official come forward to stop it. Police called by Sikh sangat reached on the spot and made goons stop demolition,' said Malkit Singh, who lives near Darbar Sahib. SGPC secretary Roop Singh said that Baba Jagtar Singh has been barred from all projects of SGPC and this episode is conspiracy against SGPC. He added, 'We have ordered a probe and only then we will take next step. But until now we don't know if Baba Jagtar Singh had demolished structure or someone else. How can we make complaint until probe is over?' However, talking to The Indian Express, Partap Singh said, 'I have been made scapegoat after the controversy. It was back in 2017 when I had suggested SGPC to repair the entrance gate and a resolution was passed in this regard. Then I was transferred away from the gurdwara. In my absence, SGPC passed a new resolution to demolish structure and Jagtar Singh was assigned duty to reconstruct it. I was transferred back to gurdwara just a month back. My health is not good. I was repeatedly approached by Baba Jagtar Singh's men to demolish entrance. I was receiving calls from the SGPC secretary-level officials and a powerful political leader to allow Baba Jagtar Singh to demolish the structure. I will give these names to SGPC probe panel if they asked me and dare to take action against that powerful political leader and SGPC official.' He added: 'I was in no position to stop crowd mobilised by Jagtar Singh. I assumed that he had got permission from my senior,' added the suspended manager. An SGPC official said, 'SGPC and Jagtar Singh failed to calculate the kind of backlash they have received after demolishing the entrance gate.'
