Nabha Natesh to sway in style

'The song is set in a village, and Mani Sharma has provided a chic beat to dance to. I will be seen sporting jewelry and rustic costumes — flashy lehenga and choli. The dance also has a Lambadi touch to it,' Nabha added. The actress admits that grooving shoulder-to-shoulder with the protagonist Ram Pothineni is a challenge. 'I have rehearsed a fair amount so I feel fairly safe like that,' she chuckles. The song also features Nidhhi Agerwal. 'The three of us bonded a great deal on the sets, and we took the opportunity to assess one another's dance moves during rehearsals.' ... Jaipur councillors allege 500 cow deaths at Hingonia centre, seek action

Akshay Patra Foundation, which manages the centre, didn't feed the animals for the past several days as they are saying they didn't receive payments from the JMC,' alleged BJP councillor Anil Kumar Sharma. Sharma said the councillors have demanded action and that cases of cow slaughter should be lodged against those who were responsible for the alleged deaths. However, Radha Priya Das from the Akshay Patra Foundation, a programme coordinator at the centre, said they have been struggling to arrange for the fodder owing to non-payment of bills by the JMC. 'The JMC didn't pay the bills for fodder since October last year and the amount stands around Rs 12 crore. The vendors stopped providing fodder after this. But we didn't keep the cows hungry and we got all available materials like sugarcane, potato and green fodder and fed them. This situation has been created by some corporators from the JMC and a few other people who wanted to take political advantage,' claimed Das. He claimed that cows require around 80 tonnes of fodder everyday and without the JMC's assistance the centre managed to provide 40-50 tonnes. 'The JMC has released a part of the payment now and we have fodder. Prior to this, around 60-70 cows were dying daily,' said Das. Das cited a letter written by the centre's management to the civic body commissioner on February 6, in which it was mentioned that shortage of fodder is a very serious issue and may lead to mass deaths of cattle. 'The cow rehabilitation centre in Hingonia had become a tourist place in past two years. But in two months, the way the situation has gone downhill, the JMC administration should think about it.' Lok Sabha Elections: It's H D Deve Gowda's might vs Ambareesh legacy

The elections to Mandya Lok Sabha seat, being fought in the sugar bowl, has turned out to be bitter in Cauvery achukat as it has narrowed down to Deve Gowda's family might vs veteran actor Ambareesh's legacy.Interestingly, campaigns by the rivals have not focussed on serious issues like farmer suicides, migration nor better price for sugarcane. Instead prestige and personal attacks were in focus. Meanwhile, water from the Cauvery river flowed freely in the irrigation canals - not seen in the last five summers, cheering farmers. Majority of farmers cultivate sugarcane and paddy. Not to antagonise them, the irrigation department quietly released 3,800 cusecs of water from KRS dam 10 days ago. Naganna, a farmer, said, "Politics and politicking is always there during polls, but livelihood is more important." Mandya, dominated by Vokklaigas, had in the past elected Ambareesh who went on to become a Union minister. While star power from top Kannada filmland has driven her campaigns, Sumalatha managed to stitch up a 'mahagathbandhan' reaching out to rival JD(S) partymen, disgruntled Congress workers and the Raitha Sangha and saw that the BJP supported her. Congress workers were only too happy to throw their weight behind her as they were upset with their party ceding the seat to JD(S). The BJP leadership too saw that Yeddyurappa, a Lingayat, did not campaign for Sumalatha giving scope for further consolidation of Vokkaliga votes.Sumalatha's son Abhishek had said that whatever the alliance at the top level the Congress and JD(S) may have had, the grassroot level discontent could benefit his mother. Kumaraswamy who is keen to see his son's victory has also played the emotional card. Like Sumalatha, who played on the 'Mandya pride ' and reminding people of Ambareesh's contribution and love for Mandya. While, Kumaraswamy reminds voters of his father Deve Gowda's contribution to Mandya, his son's attachment to the people and the help extended to farmers. Questioning Ambareesh's contribution to Mandya, the JD(S) leaders harped on the `8,000 crore grants given to Mandya. Though Kumaraswamy and minister D K Shivakumar managed to bring in a few Congress veterans to fall in line, some former MLAs, were reluctant to support JD(S) fearing that it could affect their future prospects, thanks to bi-polar politics in the absence of BJP. The JD(S), with eight sitting MLAs, and control over other elected bodies is countering anti-incumbency and had brought in Gowda to campaign where Congressmen openly campaigned for Sumalatha. It also brought in former CM Siddaramaiah to ensure that Kuruba and Ahinda votes get transferred. The JD(S) has tried to connect with people focusing on loan waiver. However, Raitha Sangha leader Nanjunde Gowda said that many are yet to benefit from it. For Kumaraswamy, this is a battle of prestige as a loss for his son could mean a loss of face to the coalition. For the BJP, which is hoping to gain a foothold in the district, Sumalatha's win is a must as it is backing her.For Nikhil, a win could prove he is indeed among the people. For Sumalatha, who is banking on Ambareesh's legacy, a win could prove her 'independent' might. Underwater plea to protect seas

arvelling at the underwater beauty and biodiversity of his surroundings, Faure called for more protection for the ocean's ecosystem."It keeps the planet alive, it keeps us alive, and it is clear to me that it is under threat like never before," he said. The Seychelles, a chain of islands off eastern Africa, faces an existential threat from climate change and rising sea levels. The country, along with other small island nations, is expected to bear the brunt of global warming, including the loss of fresh water, land erosion, dying coral reefs and the increased frequency of extreme weather events. While global powers have gathered repeatedly for summit meetings on how to reduce and mitigate carbon emissions, island nations have expressed desperation at the lack of meaningful action."The ocean is huge, covering almost 70 per cent of our planet, but we have managed to seriously impact this vast environment through climate change, ocean acidification, overfishing, plastic and other pollution," Faure said, adding: "We need decisive, coordinated, international action."Plastic pollution has become a particular focus in the fight to keep oceans clean as large amounts of garbage are released into the world's seas every year. Over the past months, in Italy, the Philippines and elsewhere, dead whales have washed ashore with dozens of kilograms of plastic in their stomachs. An estimated eight million tons of plastic wind up in the sea every year, according to the World Wildlife Fund.Oceans are major producers of oxygen - due largely to the actions of phytoplankton, tiny single-celled ocean plants - and they absorb half of all climate-warming carbon dioxide, according to the organisation. But the total amount of vertebrate sea life, including fish, has reduced by more than a third since 1970, the fund said.
