'He was a nationalist': After Pragya Thakur, another BJP leader praises Godse

Thakur, who is a two-time MLA, was answering questions posed by journalists in Indore. Asked what she thought about Godse, Thakur said, 'Woh Rashtravadi Hai Hi' (He is a nationalist). Asked to comment on Mahatma Gandhi's assassination, she said, 'He (Godse) thought about the nation throughout his life and under what circumstances he made the decision (to kill Mahatma Gandhi) no one knows and I think we should not comment on it.' Chief Minister Kamal Nath condemning Thakur's statement said. 'The comment is regrettable. It shows that the BJP has something in his heart, something else it its brain and another thing in what it says.' Despite attempts Usha Thakur could not be reached for her comments. But BJP spokesperson Hitesh Bajpai said, 'The party has made it clear that this is not the party line. Her comments are condemnable and she should take it back.' Ashes 2019: Jofra Archer misses out as England name playing XI for first Test

'Jofra is coming back from quite a serious injury and we looked at the conditions, about a team that can take 20 wickets here, and it allows him time to get absolutely fit,' England captain Joe Root said at Edgbaston. James Anderson, England's all-time leading Test wicket-taker, returns to the side following a calf injury. Anderson, who turned 37 on Tuesday, will again team up with regular new-ball partner Stuart Broad. All-rounders Chris Woakes and Ben Stokes will provide seam-bowling support in the match starting Thursday. Broad and Woakes, who will be playing on his Warwickshire home ground this week, took all 10 wickets between them as Ireland were shot out for just 38 in their second innings at Lord's. England had already settled on their top seven, with Root going back up to number three and Joe Denly dropping down to four as the hosts look to shore up their struggling batting order. World Cup winners Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes, rested against Ireland, return to a side where off-spinner Moeen Ali is the main specialist slow bowler. Australia hold the Ashes but have not won a Test series away to England since 2001. England team for first Ashes Test: Rory Burns, Jason Roy, Joe Root (capt), Joe Denly, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow (wkt), Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad, James Anderson DailyhuntDisclaimer: This story is auto-aggregated by a computer program and has not been created or edited by Dailyhunt. Quentin Tarantino kept Once Upon A Time In Hollywood script in a safe to prevent leaks

'While we were in the production office, we went in a room with the ending. It was taken from a safe and they handed it to only those people who require it to be able to perform their tasks that are necessary,' Richardson said. Actor Margret Qualley recently told IndieWire that she was not allowed to read the full script though co-star Pitt told her about the ending. The only other person to read the entire script during production was a friend of Roman Polanski, Tarantino had told Deadline. The friend got to read the story as Polanski's character features in the story, which deals with two Hollywood washouts, who are neighbours to Polanski's actor-wife Sharon Tate. Tate was murdered by the Charles Manson family cult members in 1969. DailyhuntDisclaimer: This story is auto-aggregated by a computer program and has not been created or edited by Dailyhunt. A1 movie review: Santhanam delivers a stress-buster

The results are refreshing, and if you'd want a movie that is akin to a stress buster, then A1 should be your choice after a heavy workday. Saravanan (Santhanam) a local guy from North Chennai gets to meet a typical Tamil cinema's 'loosu ponnu' girl Divya (Tara Alisha Berry), and she is on the lookout to fall for, and marry a bold Brahmin boy. Mistaking Saravanan as one, she is madly in love with him. Her dad Anantharaman (Yatin Karyekar) is an upright and uptight bureaucrat who doesn't consent to his daughter's new relationship. Divya nonetheless idolizes her father and thinks that nobody can find such a flawless man ever. She dares Saravanan to find some weakness and imperfections in her dad, and the man of the hour is always up for a challenge. A twist takes place. How Saravanan and his crew confronts her father forms the reminder of the film. Directed by debutant K. Johnson, A1 is not a film that tries too hard or reinvents the wheel. Santhanam clearly has made this a team-oriented project, and a crew of other comedians including MS Bhaskar, Thangadurai, Manohar, Maran, Kingsly, Sai Kumar and Motta Rajendran has involved themselves to keep the laughs going. Santhanam himself has utilized his strength of caricaturing the traditional Tamil hero image of the swashbuckling one-man army very well. Tara Alisha is just about adequate. Even if things are scripted, you could feel that Santhanam heavily relies on improvisation to deliver the scenes and extract the most out of a dull storyline. Santhosh Narayanan's BGM and songs (mostly gana) are the biggest plus for the film. Overall, A1 doesn't try to deliver anything serious through its comedy. The makers of this film want you to escape the worries of daily life and have a nice big chuckle instead. They've largely succeeded in doing so. ... Cabinet approves bill for 10 per cent reservation to J&K's economically-weaker sections

The bill is expected to be tabled in Parliament soon as the proposed legislation could not be brought before the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly which has been dissolved. The state is currently under the President's rule. The bill would pave the way for reserving state government jobs to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir who are from economically weaker sections belonging to any religion or caste, the official statement said. The 10 per cent reservation to economically weaker sections was introduced in the country through the 103rd Constitution Amendment in January. This will be in addition to such reservation available in the central government jobs, it added. Chennai youth among crew detained by Iran on ship

He has been working on this ship for the last four years without any incident or accident, said a member of the family who wished not to be named. Aditya 'We do not want to say anything that could even remotely offend the Iranians who appear to be treating the captives quite decently. What we want to say is that we are rather upset with the indifference of our governments at the Centre and in Tamil Nadu', said another relative, who also claimed that Kerala Government was 'pro-active' in trying to get its men released from the vessel. 'The ship was seized at about 9 pm on July 19 and there was no word from Aditya for the next four days. We were pretty worried. Then on July 23, he called and said he was alright but fatigued by the stress of all that had happened now, and that he has been permitted by the captors to speak to family over phone for just a few minutes every day', said the family member. The family appealed to the Governments at the Centre and in Tamil Nadu to step up efforts through the Indian Mission in Tehran. Several Indian sailors on ships in the Gulf region have been caught up in increased tensions between Iran and the West. ...
