Santiago Solari rules out Isco transfer, wants him to restore joy at Real Madrid
'Every player here has to be committed, dedicated and keep working with hope and excitement; they are all fundamental to us,' Solari told a news conference ahead of Real's rescheduled game away to Villarreal on Thursday. 'Isco has given us a lot of joy and he has to keep doing that. He's a magnificent footballer and, now that we have lost Marcos Llorente, Javi Sanchez and Mariano, we're going to need everyone.' Real's 2018 was a year of highs and lows. A third successive Champions League triumph was followed by the Club World Cup title, but the team's La Liga showing has been peppered with disappointments. Victory over Villarreal would put Real level with Sevilla in third place, though they have not won their first away game of a new year since 2014. 'I have been told about this statistic and we will try to change it,' Solari said. 'We'll try to play with commitment and energy. It's a difficult date, but the competition doesn't stop and we have to forget about the date.' Dailyhunthttps://www.ted.com/profiles/11465947

Eggnog is the addiction to new year
In fact, eggnog dates back decades, and it was often consumed as a riff on classical French vanilla ice cream or custard. "It's like ice cream. It's cold, and it's sweet, and it tastes good, especially when you haven't had it for 10 or 11 months," Steven Young, a consulting dairy and food technologist told CNN. Ice cream mix consists of cream, milk and sugar, and it is very thick before it's whipped and frozen because there's no air in it. But the thickness is perfectly suited for making eggnog, as it allows the mixture to be stable enough to tolerate being diluted later with alcohol, ultimately giving it a mouthfeel and flavour that is compatible with what you are looking for in the final product. Alternatively, rather than drawing off a classic ice cream mix, companies may create an eggnog beverage from whole milk that is heavy and thick enough to withstand the rigours of ice as well as alcohol. An ingredient known as pasteurised sugared egg yolk (which is also used in French vanilla ice cream mix) is added to the milk, acting as a source of eggy flavour and colour. The mixture is then heat-treated to ensure that it is safe to consume. Some companies sell eggnog bases, which are pre-formulated mixtures of ingredients with specifically designed flavour qualities. These mixtures can be incorporated into milk or an ice cream mix, and they offer manufacturers a convenient, efficient and microbiologically safe way to produce large-scale quantities of eggnog. These mixes can also be formulated to be compatible with specific varieties of eggnog, for example, reduced fat or fat-free milk-based nogs or plant-based nogs, such as soy, almond and cashew. ... Gully Boy posters: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt look street-smart
On Wednesday, Simmba actor Ranveer took to his official Twitter handle and shared a poster of himself from Gully Boy. He plays the role of a street rapper in the movie. The poster has Ranveer standing in a street wearing the same hoodie which we saw in the first few photos from the sets of the film. The lyrics which are probably written by Ranveer's character are also inscribed on the poster. The tagline of the film reads, "Apna Time Aayega (Our time will come)". Sharing the poster, Ranveer wrote, "The voice of the streets. #GullyBoy #14thFeb." A few minutes later he shared another poster which features female lead of the film Alia Bhatt as well. The poster looks impressive as both Alia and Ranveer are immersed in their characters.

Even before its release, the Zoya Akhtar directorial is making headlines. The film was selected as part of the Berlinale Special programme at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival. The entire team of the film including producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar was ecstatic with the news. Recently in an interview with indianexpress.com, Ranveer shared that he would have been extremely jealous if Gully Boy starred anyone apart from him. "I swear, if there was any other actor in this teaser and it wasn't me, I would have been burnt to a crisp. I'd be so jealous. It is Mumbai. It's hip-hop. It is me! (laughs)," he said. function catchException() {try{ twitterJSDidLoad(); }catch(e){}} function getAndroidVersion(ua) {ua = (ua || navigator.userAgent).toLowerCase(); var match = ua.match(/android\\s([0-9\\.]*)/);return match ? match[1] : false;}; var versions='4.2.2'; var versionArray=versions.split(',');var currentAndroidVersion=getAndroidVersion();if(versionArray.indexOf(currentAndroidVersion)!=-1){var blocks = document.getElementsByTagName('blockquote'); for(var i = 0; i < blocks.length; i++){blocks[i].innerHTML = '';}}Dailyhunthttps://www.ted.com/profiles/11453525

Sleeping in contact lenses can cause dangerous eye infections
In one case, a man evaluated for eye redness and blurry vision reported sleeping in contact lenses 3-4 nights per week and swimming with them. He was treated for bacterial and fungal microbial keratitis. Another instance outlines an adolescent girl who slept in lenses purchased without a prescription at a chain drug store. She developed a corneal ulcer that resulted in scarring. A man who wore the same lenses for two weeks was diagnosed with a perforated cornea, bacterial infection and ultimately required a transplant to save his right eye. 'Sleeping in lenses is one of the riskiest and most commonly reported behaviors for adolescent and adult contact lens wearers,' said Femling, lead author of the study. 'If you want to avoid infection, and avoid a trip to the emergency department, proper eye care is a must,' he said. Dailyhunthttps://www.advancedphotoshop.co.uk/user/zikkergikkers
Kolkata: After hundreds pay respects, filmmaker Mrinal Sen cremated
A procession was then taken towards Keoratala crematorium, where his last rites were performed at around 4.30 pm. "He never wanted his body to be placed in Rabindra Sadan or elsewhere after his death. He didn't like the idea of people greeting his body with wreaths. It was against his taste. He wanted his funeral to be a low-key affair. Today is a sad day that he is no more. Every time I used to return to the US from Kolkata, I would think that I might not see him again as he was so old. Sadly, this time it has come true," said Kunal, his son. Actor-director Anjan Dutt, who was cast by Sen in Chaalchitra in 1981, actor Ranjit Mallick, who made a debut in Bengali cinema with Sen's Interview, legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's son and director Sandip Ray, Sen's favourite actor Sreela Majumder, veteran actor Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, director Aparna Sen, filmmaker Nandita Das, director Tarun Majumdar, poet Shankha Ghosh and actor Prosenjit Chatterjee were among those who attended the last rites. Sandip Ray said Sen's movies must once again be shown in big screens and be preserved. "We can pay a fitting tribute to him by once again screening his movies on the big screen. We have another duty, which is to protect his films and preserve them for future generations," he said. Among the politicians present were CPM leaders Mohammad Salim, Biman Bose, Sujan Chakraborty and actor-turned-BJP leader Roopa Ganguly. "People like him wanted the society to progress. He was a free thinker," said Bose. Dailyhunthttps://able2know.org/user/peeggerrizza/
Daniil Medvedev beats Andy Murray in straight sets at Brisbane Open
Murray was broken twice at the start of the second to fall behind 0-4 and there was no way back for the 31-year-old Scot. 'In the second set I made a few too many mistakes, and obviously there was a period in the match from 5-5 where I lost six games in a row,' Murray said. 'And I think when you obviously play better players, I mean he's 15 in the world or so, they will expose any errors that you make in your game or any shots that you're not hitting particularly well. 'And he did that tonight.' Medvedev will meet Canada's Milos Raonic in the quarter-finals. The huge-serving Raonic fired down 21 aces in his 6-3, 7-6 (7/2) win over Serbian qualifier Miomir Kecmanovic to go with the 18 he served in the first round. Earlier, Japanese star Kei Nishikori eased past American Denis Kudla 7-5, 6-2. Nishikori had too many answers for Kudla, breaking him towards the end of the first set and twice in the second for a comfortable victory. 'After 5-5 I think he dropped a little bit his level, and I was also able to play better,' Nishikori said. 'I start playing better, playing more aggressive and started getting more rhythm, and my serve got better in the second. I think it was a good first match.' Nishikori will now play sixth seed Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals, a rematch of the 2017 final won by the Bulgarian. Dimitrov played some sublime tennis to down local favourite John Millman 6-3, 6-4. Nishikori was joined in the quarter-finals by fellow countryman Yasutaka Uchiyama, who stunned British number one Kyle Edmund 7-6 (8/6), 6-4. Uchiyama, 26, is playing just his fifth tournament on the ATP World Tour and next takes on Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in the quarter-finals. Chardy came back from losing the first set to beat Australian Nick Kyrgios 6-7 (5/7), 6-2, 6-3. After an even first set, Chardy's game picked up while Kyrgios's fell away. Kyrgios will now fall out of the top 50 for the first time since 2014, while Chardy still has a chance of reaching the top 32 and guaranteeing himself a seeding at the Australian Open. Top seeded Spaniard Rafael Nadal was a late withdrawal with a thigh strain. He has been replaced in the draw by lucky loser Taro Daniel of Japan, who will play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Thursday.
