Major features of the 2019 iPhone XI leak

The report states that Bloomberg has got in touch with a source at Sony and they have confirmed that Apple will be integrating a long distance 3D camera in the 2019 iPhone. With this technology fitted in the next crop of iPhones, it has the possibility to transform photography, security and gaming. Satoshi Yoshihara, head of Sony's sensor division said, 'Cameras revolutionised phones and based on what I've seen, I have the same expectation for 3D [cameras].' The report goes on to detail that Sony will be commencing mass production of the 3D sensors for front and rear cameras in the late summer to meet demand. Apple has shown interest in utilising this technology and Sony will be ready with the modules by the time the production of the next iPhone is underway. Explaining the difference, the report states, 'Sony's 3D cameras use 'Time of Flight' technology (previously used only in the industry). It sends out invisible laser pulses and measures the time before they bounce back to build detailed 3D models of objects up to five metres away.' The uses of this technology span far and wide and in terms of photography, focusing can happen instantaneously as well as object tracking can take place even in low lit environments. As far as security is concerned, the 3D cameras can be used for high-grade facial mapping and unlocking. This will reduce the need for the multi-sensor array currently used by Apple for its Face ID tech. Eventually, this implantation will be used to shrink the notch, or even have the possibility to remove it altogether. The 3D camera can also be used for mapping of rooms for AR and VR purposes and it also has interactive capabilities wherein a user's hands can be used to manipulate a gaming environment. Apart from the new camera sensors, it is also believed that Apple may bring back the much-loved Touch ID feature and fit it in the display itself. However, they will not go the way of Vivo or OnePlus, but instead include an ultrasonic in-display sensor, the same one that's rumoured to feature in Samsung's next flagship — the Galaxy S10. ... Political Lessons for 2019 from 2018

In March 2018, the political map of India was awash with saffron flags. Prakash Javadekar coined "from 5 to 21 states", a line to articulate the march of the juggernaut to power in states accounting for 70 per cent of the population. The Congress, sans a stance or subscription, was stranded in a shrinking bubble. Post the historic victory in Tripura, BJP President Amit Shah quipped, "Left is not right", and asserted, "we will win in Karnataka". In politics, nothing happens by accident. Even though electoral outcomes frequently seem accidental, political destinies are inexorably the consequence of neglected causes. A week, it is said, is a long time in politics. Two months after Tripura, the BJP juggernaut stalled in Bengaluru. The intense battle was not about ideology or ideas but give-aways. Notwithstanding a parade of sops-including loan waivers, pilgrimage subsidies, zero to one per cent loans, grants, gold, free phones-it was the futures and options player, JD(S), which wrested power in the state. The party which came third won the trophy. Failure in Karnataka made it imperative for the BJP to retain power in the Hindi hinterland. That was not to be. The debacle in the three states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh altered the political hues and the colours on the political map of India. The causes of the defeat of December 2018 were visible in the victory of December 2017 in Gujarat, where the apparition of doom made a brief appearance in the last days of the polls. What was the Gujarat mandate telling India? Rural Gujarat illustrated that the farmer wanted to be heard, the distress in the deteriorating viability of agriculture to be addressed. The small and medium entrepreneur in small-town Gujarat was speaking for businessmen everywhere expressing the hit from the twin shocks of demonetisation and the badly designed GST-worsened by poor access to credit. The youth who rallied with the three musketeers of the Gujarat polls defined unmet expectations of jobs. Hubris in contemporary usage denotes overweening presumption, inexplicable optimism and arrogant confidence. Its etymology is rooted in Greek language. Hybris, the early avatar of hubris, characterised intentional use of deeds and words to humiliate or degrade. Aristotle is said to have observed, "Hubris consists in doing and saying things that cause shame to the victim. simply for the pleasure of it." The point is less about reality and more about the growing perception of arrogance within and outside. The question is as much about words as it is about deeds. The issues flagged in Gujarat and later in Karnataka were not unknown. The solutions were discussed as were the problems. The ideas for redressal are mentioned in the budgets, in the reports of ministries, in the drafts authored at the behest of the PMO by Niti Aayog. To the voter at large the indolent system seemed to be simultaneously staring at problems and solutions. Yes, the solutions may have been in the domain of state governments, but the Central ministers could not persuade their colleagues in 20-odd states where the BJP was in power-these include the draft for a labour code, the draft for a leasing land law, the draft for contract farming, the need for establishing PPP for skills training, the need to decentralise clearances to enable investment and job creation. The BJP has struggled to find champions to shepherd change-the success stories of Jan Dhan, Ujjwala or Saubhagya have been commanded by executive action from the prime minister's office. The gap between intent and execution can only be explained by ministerial incapacity to confront systemic sloth. In 2014, the BJP won over 171 million votes and the Congress around 107 million. The historic mandate was fuelled by haplessness, frustration with the Congress-led UPA. The middle had shifted to the right persuaded by promise, pursuing expectations of solution-oriented politics. The ground, it would appear from the details of the electoral verdicts, is shifting from hope to cynicism. The fog of winter, it would seem, has set on popular perception. The accepted wisdom of March, "there is no stopping the BJP in 2019", has morphed into the quintessential doubt. That question, 'Can the BJP make it in 2019?', represents ominous portents. The callisthenics of Baba Ramdev and the reflective ruminations of Nitin Gadkari have introduced fuzzy logic into the discourse. The hope of getting the sarkar out of business, the expectation that agriculture will get a new deal, the idea of development through team India, the anticipation of much-needed administrative reforms and the promise of 100 smart cities await deliverance. In politics, data recitation is not enough. It is the experiential narrative which drives affiliation. shankkar.aiyar@gmail.com Dailyhunthttps://foretagslanns.blogspot.com/2018/12/tips-on-comparing-real-estate-brokers.html

Bird flu: Govt orders culling of chicken in 4 villages in Puri district

he collector said he has issued orders to stop supply of eggs for mid-day meals in schools and anganwadi centres. At least eight teams have been formed to undertake the culling operation. An outbreak of bird flu is suspected in Puri after 20,000 hens and crows died in the Krushnaprasad block of the district. The blood samples of the birds were sent to the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD) in Bhopal. The samples tested positive for the H5N1 virus, chief district veterinary officer (CDVO) Dr Girija Patnaik said. The administration is dealing with the matter seriously, as the affected areas are close to the Chilika lake, where a large number of migratory birds are likely to congregate in winter. A joint team of forest and veterinary officials had gone to Nalabana in the lake and collected stool samples of about 150 migratory birds. So far, the team has sent 308 samples to the ADRI, officials said, adding that the Chilika Wildlife Division had convened a meeting on this issue at Balugan on Wednesday in the presence of senior veterinary and forest officials. Inherent demand to help steel overcome hurdles: Tata Steel

But China PMI at 49.4 indicates the country is technically in an economic contraction zone and expectation is high that there will be policy easing to ensure growth. Moreover, we are neither seeing a structural demand collapse like 2009 post the financial crisis nor a huge supply glut in the seaborne market like 2015-16. Hence, what we are seeing is normalisation from the peak stimulus fuelled growth. Also higher production during pre-winter closing is playing out from an inventory liquidation point of view. Q: Raw material prices are yet to come down as much, putting pressure on margins. What is your outlook on prices for the industry and margins for Tata Steel's India operation, Tata Steel BSL and European operations?A: That the raw material prices are stable gives a clear indication that the steel cycle will be range-bound over the medium term though there may be mini cycles with shorter peak-trough duration. In Tata Steel, the margin play is not solely dependent on the steel prices but also on the value-added product profile strategy, customer centricity, operational excellence covering cost and efficiency programmes. For years, the Indian operations have focused on creating an all-weather business. In Tata Steel BSL (erstwhile Bhushan Steel), we have a structured programme to improve its operations, maximise its potential on volumes and realise synergies. The European operations are normally more vulnerable to externalities but the market spread has not decreased significantly. We have had operational issues in the last quarter but that should stabilise in this quarter. Q: Tata Steel is looking at long product assets for acquisition. Following the correction in steel prices, will the company go slow? Or will it continue to look at assets such as Jai Balaji, Visa or Adhunik?A: When we are building a facility or acquiring a business, the long-term strategic factors have an important weight in decision making and not the monthly steel prices. We will look at organic and inorganic options to increase our long product portfolio over time. I don't think we need to rush into anything. I can't comment on any specific names that you have given.Q: Do you think valuations of steel assets will moderate following the correction in metal prices? How will it impact the IBC process in finding a buyer?A: In the next round of IBC, there are medium to smaller-sized assets that will be available if the creditors press the button. The financial creditors and distressed funds typically find these assets as their sweet spots because of the lower capital outlay and smaller risk exposure. So there may be some investors who may play the consolidator in this segment as happened in the US in early 2000. But strategic or financial investors looking at IBC assets must be comfortable with the cyclical nature of the industry and have the ability to access large capital given the complexity of the business.Q: Tata Steel was looking to bring in a strategic partner for Southeast Asia operations or hive off completely. Any progress? Will moderation in prices slow down finding a partner?A: We have been in discussions and the talks are progressing well. We do not talk about such corporate actions till it reaches a certain stage of maturity. Again, I don't think these issues depend on near-term steel prices, it is more strategic in nature. Q: Give us a road map on the sale of the Usha Martin steel business. How soon do you expect coal and iron ore mines can be transferred?A: It is a slump sale process and, hence, there are several hoops to cross before we close the transaction, hopefully before the end of the year. The coal and iron ore mine has several regulatory approval requirements that will take its usual time. The steel business transfer, will, however, close faster and we are prepared for the opening day and follow up with an integration plan, much like what we did in Bhushan Steel. China building 'most advanced' naval warships for Pakistan: Report

The CSSC did not specify the ship's type but said it is being constructed at its Hudong-Zhonghua shipyard in Shanghai. China, an 'all-weather ally' of Islamabad, is the largest supplier of weapon system to Pakistan. Both the countries also jointly manufacture JF-Thunder a single engine multi-role combat aircraft. The ship's class is Type 054AP, which means it is based on the Type 054A of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, the report quoted the Pakistani Navy as saying. The Pakistani Navy previously said four such ships had been ordered, according to the report. Once constructed, the warship 'will be one of the largest and technologically advanced platforms of the Pakistani Navy and strengthen the country's capability to respond to future challenges, maintain peace and stability and the balance of power in the Indian Ocean region,' the report said. It will also support the Pakistani Navy's initiative of securing sea lanes for international shipping by patrolling distant waters, the daily quoted the CSSC as saying. The mention of the Indian Ocean is regarded as significant as China, which has already taken over Pakistan's strategic Gwadar port under the multi-billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), looks to assist the Pakistani navy to restore the balance of power in India's backyard. China has acquired the logistical military base in Djibouti and taken over the Hambantota port of Sri Lanka under a 99-year debt swap deal. China recently denied a New York Times report that it finalised a plan to build advanced fighter aircraft under the CPEC in Pakistan, adding a military dimension to it. India protested to China over the CPEC as it is being laid through the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan became the first country to hook on to China's BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, a rival to the US Global Positioning System (GPS) which went global recently. The system was expected to be used for military applications. The report said Type 054A is the best frigate in service with the PLA Navy. Military sources said the ship has a fully loaded displacement of about 4,000 metric tonnes and is equipped with advanced radars and missiles. About 30 Type 054As are in service with the PLA Navy. An insider in China's shipbuilding sector with knowledge of the Type 054AP programme told the Daily that the ship is the largest and most powerful combat vessel China has ever exported. 'Based on pictures circulating on the internet, the ship will have vertical launch cells that can fire Chinese HQ-16 air-defence missiles and other kinds of missiles. Vertical launch cells will bring flexibility to the user in terms of weapons portfolio, thus giving it a stronger fighting capability,' he said, adding that the Type 054AP is the best frigate Pakistan can access in the international market. 'The service of Type 054APs will double the combat power of the Pakistani Navy's surface fleet,' he said. Commenting on the ship's construction, Cao Weidong, a senior researcher at the PLA's Naval Military Studies Research Institute, said in the past, the Pakistani Navy would ask its Chinese contractors to use Western radars or weapons on ships constructed by the Chinese shipbuilders because it believed the Western naval technologies were better than Chinese ones. 'But it seems that all weapons and radars on the new ship will be Chinese products, which reflects our progress in the industry and the Pakistani Navy's confidence in our technology and capability,' he said. Cao said there are many nations selling frigates in the market, so Pakistan must have made thorough comparisons in terms of combat capability and costs. 'I believe the reason they chose our type is that ours is one of the few that can carry out all of the air-defence, anti-ship and anti-submarine tasks,' he said, expecting the service of the Chinese frigate to substantially boost Pakistan's defence capability. All clear for Balika Grih demolition

The police and administrative officials pacified them by showing them the order of the Supreme Court, which had set aside the special leave petition filed on behalf of the owner."The demolition process will start once the materials are shifted from the Balika Grih premises to the office of the Muzaffarpur regional development authority. The police forces have already been deployed for the purpose. The CBI handed over the key of the Balika Grih to the civic body officials on Monday," municipal commissioner Sanjay Dubey said on Tuesday.Three storeys of the four-storey building have been constructed in violation of building bylaws. On December 7, officials of the civic body inspected the premises and ordered shifting of the materials from there. However, it couldn't start work as the owner of the building had moved the Supreme Court. The apex court had earlier set December 10 as the deadline for demolishing the illegal portion. Muzaffarpur district magistrate Mohammad Sohail had asked sub-divisional officer (east) Manoj Kumar to execute the order of the apex court, which is monitoring the sexual abuse case. The CBI had sealed the rooms where the girls were housed before they were shifted from the Balika Grih, which was run by the NGO Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti. The NGO's proprietor, Brajesh Thakur, is a key accused and is lodged in Patiala jail in Punjab. He was shifted out of Bihar on the apex court's orders. 1446357 Dailyhunthttps://www.advancedphotoshop.co.uk/user/zeerakeerase

Sameer Verma ensures a dramatic victory for Mumbai Rockets at PBL

1 Son Wan Ho had the upper hand in the initial stages. Showing some impressive footwork, he managed to repeatedly draw errors to race ahead to 11-5 before wrapping up the opener 15-6. Refusing to relent after that fine start, the Hong Kong Open champion ruthlessly kept attacking the Antonsen forehand wing to hit winners. However, this time his 4-3 lead was overturned by a resilient Antonsen who upped the ante to go up to 8-5 in a stunning turnaround. Son fought back valiantly to make it an even affair at 8-8 only to see a spirited Antonsen take the game 15-11. The decider turned out to be one scintillating affair where nothing could separate the two. In a highly exciting finish to the match, a charged up Antonsen kept coming back every time Son got a point before he sneaked past the Korean to take the 6-15, 15-11, 15-14 win. Virat Kohli named skipper of Cricket Australia's ODI Team Of The Year World No. 12 Sameer Verma kept firing on all cylinders to make a fabulous start to his match against Awadhe's Lee Dong Keun. The match, however, had a different complexion in the second game when the Malaysian started injecting pace and power into his shots to trouble Sameer. A stunned Verma conceded the second game to build a 4-2 lead in the decider. The momentum kept oscillating between the two until 9-9 when Sameer found a wondrous down-the-line smash. Buoyed up by that winner, Sameer kept adding points steadily to take the 15-11, 8-15, 15-11 win. Earlier, Awadhe Trump Beiwen Zhang started off the tie on a confident note, looking every bit the World No. 10 shuttler that she is. The India Open champion was coming off a strong win over PV Sindhu in her earlier assignment and she simply continued from there. Controlling the shuttle beautifully, Zhang kept the young World No. 202 Shreyanshi Pardeshi on the move. Opening up the court smartly she banked on her precise shuttle placement and great netplay to dash all hopes of the youngster and record a commanding 15-10, 15-10 win. Mumbai's Trump men's doubles pair of Lee Yong Dae and Kim Gi Jung then brought back their side into contention with a strong 15-7, 15-9 win over Awadhe's Yang Lee and Season 4 debutant MR Arjun. The Mumbai duo had lost their last match but rebounded in style in this one. Dailyhunthttp://www.tripntale.com/profile/131855
