May in final push to convince lawmakers

Back this motion and get the deal done…We cannot serve our country by overturning a democratic decision of the British people,' she said, hours after claiming a breakthrough in negotiations with the EU to secure changes to the controversial Irish backstop to make it more acceptable to all sides of the Commons. Opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn countered that it was the same 'bad deal' MPs had rejected in January and that his party would be voting against it again because it risks people's living standards and jobs. The clash came soon after UK Attorney-General Geoffrey Cox confirmed that the legal risk from the controversial Irish backstop 'remains unchanged', leading to hard-Brexiteers from within May's own Conservative Party refusing to back the so-called 'improved' divorce arrangement, leaving Britain's exit from the EU still precariously poised ahead of the March 29 Brexit deadline. In a last-minute dash to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Monday night, May emerged alongside European Commission President Jean Claude-Juncker to declare that the UK and EU have agreed 'legally binding' changes to the controversial Irish backstop clause to ensure any such arrangement would not be permanent. The move was aimed at addressing the concerns of hard-Brexiteers in her own Conservative Party and the Northern Irish Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), which provides her government with its majority in the House of Commons. 'MPs were clear that legal changes were needed to the backstop. Today we have secured legal changes. Now is the time to come together to back this improved Brexit deal,' May said at a joint press conference with Juncker. Brexiteers from within her party and the DUP had refused to comment if they feel the changes she has secured will be enough for them to vote in favour of the deal before they take full legal advice on the changes. UK's chief legal advisor Attorney General Geoffrey Cox said the extra assurances won by May do "reduce the risk that the UK could be indefinitely and involuntarily detained" in the backstop if talks on the two sides' future relationship broke down due to "bad faith" by the EU. However, the 'legal risk remains unchanged" if no such deal can be reached. Dailyhunthttps://tapas.io/yozkelvozkeeneens12

There is great work being done in the regional music industries: Karan Kulkarni

Pune had a lot more open spaces when I was young, so I'd spend my time going on adventures with friends. It was only in college that I started to play guitar and formed a band, Khadki Junction Blues, with my friend and collaborator — Bhrigu Sahni.' Karan's earliest memories of music would be the music his parents played on vinyl records and cassette tapes. He vividly remembers listening to artistes such as The Beatles, Queen, Michael Jackson, and more, when he would go driving on a holiday. He adds, 'As a child, I studied speech, drama and elocution at The St. Cecilia's School Of Music, Pune. There were always people playing and studying music around and a lot of our activities involved vocal/choral exercises. Even though I didn't begin studying music until I was 15, music was always around.' Having completed a degree in music production from Queensland University of Technology , Australia, Karan believes that understanding music theory adds to your musical vocabulary. 'I think of it as a language. The more words you know, will always help you speak with more command, and knowledge. Eloquence too, hopefully. I continue to study music whenever I'm free. One should never stop learning as the more you know, the less likely you are to repeat yourself and be stagnant in your expression,' adds Karan. Karan's Marathi connect began with Sachin Kundalkar's Happy Journey (2014) and is keen on working on more interesting regional projects. Karan's Marathi connect began with Sachin Kundalkar's Happy Journey (2014) and is keen on working on more interesting regional projects. He believes each language has its own nuances and beauty and would love to explore on music that isn't just Hindi. A lot of his advertising work is in various languages and he has even sung for some of them. 'There is great work being done in the regional music industries. In Marathi, I like Ajay-Atul's music. Their sound is huge, rooted yet modern.' Karan's forthcoming projects include Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota which is directed by Vasan Bala. He is also working on music for some OTT platforms, films, and advertising. 'I hope to release some of my own music later this year, which will probably be R&B or electronic,' he concludes. WATCH | Cristiano Ronaldo stings Atletico Madrid with Diego Simeone's crotch-grabbing celebration

Omg Ronaldo took the piss out of Simeone's celebration #JuveAtleti #UCL pic.twitter.com/KJYJvfPz6X - Declan Rogers (@lfcReclanDogers) March 12, 2019 "He will have seen how I did it at the Wanda Metropolitano and, like me, was trying to show his character," said Simeone, who was fined 20,000 euros by UEFA for his gesture. "Cristiano Ronaldo is the best in the world, he can put in these performances on big nights," added the Argentinian coach. Former Real Madrid player Ronaldo has now scored 25 goals against Atletico in 33 appearances, including four hat-tricks. Two of his five Champions League titles, in 2014 and 2016, have also been won by beating Atletico in the finals. He scored the title-winning penalty against Atletico in 2016 and a hat-trick against them in the last four a year later. "In the history of Juve there was never a comeback like this," said Ronaldo. "That's why Juventus bought me, to help them in games like this. I do my job and I'm very happy, it was a magical evening." Special night Juventus signed Ronaldo last summer from Real Madrid for 100 million euros ($117 million) hoping he would make the difference on the continent. The Italian title-holders have not won the Champions League since 1996, and have finished runners-up twice in the past four seasons. "It had to be a special night and it was, not just for the goals, but for the team and their incredible attitude," continued the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. "This is the mentality you need in the Champions League and we are on the right track. "It's too early to talk about the final, let's take it one step at a time. "Atletico was a complicated team to face, but we are also strong and we deserved to go through." Ronaldo have now joins Barcelona's Lionel Messi with the most Champions League hat-tricks, on eight. The Portuguese has been directly involved in 77 goals in 77 Champions League knockout appearances -- 63 goals and 14 assists. He has scored 124 goals in the Champions League, more than Atletico in the competition (118). The top scorer in the Champions League for the last six seasons, he has now scored four in this year's competition. "It would have been strange for Ronaldo to finish the Champions League with just one goal," said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri. "It was a superb match tonight, with a wonderful public. The players gave a great night of football to the Italian public." function catchException() {try{ twitterJSDidLoad(); }catch(e){}} function getAndroidVersion(ua) {ua = (ua || navigator.userAgent).toLowerCase(); var match = ua.match(/android\\s([0-9\\.]*)/);return match ? match[1] : false;}; var versions='4.2.2'; var versionArray=versions.split(',');var currentAndroidVersion=getAndroidVersion();if(versionArray.indexOf(currentAndroidVersion)!=-1){var blocks = document.getElementsByTagName('blockquote'); for(var i = 0; i < blocks.length; i++){blocks[i].innerHTML = '';}}Dailyhunthttps://www.openstreetmap.org/user/peddapeelee

https://www.blogger.com/blUEFA Champions League: Three things we learned from Manchester City 7 Schalke 0

A product of Schalke's academy, Sane did not celebrate his strike that night or City's third in front of the travelling fans at the Etihad but will have been delighted to again make his case for a more regular start to Pep Guardiola. A star of City's romp to the Premier League title last season, Sane has perennially been left on the bench this campaign with Guardiola preferring Sterling, Silva and even Riyad Mahrez of late. But the German international's calm finish and assists for Sterling, Silva and Foden took his tally to an impressive 14 goals and 17 assists despite limited minutes. Quadruple dream faces tougher tests League Cup winners, Premier League leaders and now both Champions League and FA Cup quarter-finalists. City may face a gruelling schedule in the final two months of the season, but they remain on course to make history with a quadruple of trophies. Undoubtedly tougher tests than a Schalke side languishing just above the Bundesliga relegation zone lie in wait. However, the impact made by Foden and Jesus off the bench suggests City have the strength in depth to cope with going for glory on four fronts, whilst the likes of Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Benjamin Mendy will soon be back from injury to lend their hand to the quadruple quest. No Champions League Brexit On a day when political turmoil over the United Kingdom's future relationship with the European Union reigned, the Premier League's revival in the Champions League continued unabated. For the first time in eight years at least three English sides will be in Friday's quarter-final draw as City joined Manchester United and Tottenham in the last eight. And more could be to come when Liverpool look to complete a clean sweep for the Premier League from three Anglo-Bundesliga battles when they travel to Bayern Munich on Wednesday with their last 16 tie poised at 0-0 after the first leg. Shocking! Samsung Galaxy S10 has the worst face unlock flaw

The 2019 Samsung Galaxy S10 series shows no signs of the retina scanning (iris scanner), and relies completely on the fingerprint scanner and face unlocking mechanism. And with the smartphones out for a review with almost every techie out there, many have been goofing around with the new flagships, just to shockingly find out that the Galaxy flagships are unlocking themselves with mere 2D photos and videos. Not only photos, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S10 flagships are also having confusion with recognizing siblings as the owners. A report from The Verge stated that they were able to unlock the Galaxy flagships with a video. Unbox Therapy stated that he was able to unlock the device by simply showing the front camera one of his YouTube videos. Shockingly, AndroidWorld.it noted that his phone could unlock by simply showing it his 2D photo. To make things even worse, a Security researcher known as Jane Wong stated that she could unlock her brother's phone using her face. var embedId = {jw:[],yt:[],dm:[]};function pauseVideos(vid){var players=Object.keys(embedId); players.forEach(function (key){var ids=embedId[key]; switch (key){case "jw": ids.forEach(function (id){if (id !=vid){var player = jwplayer(id); if(player.getState() === "playing"){player.pause();}}}); break; case "yt": ids.forEach(function (id){if (id !=vid){id.pauseVideo();}}); break;case "dm": ids.forEach(function (id){if (id !=vid && !id.paused){id.pause();}}); break;}});}var ytOnLoadFn=[];function onYouTubePlayerAPIReady(){ytOnLoadFn.forEach(function(name){window[name]();});}function onYTEmbedLoad(ytp){embedId.yt.push(ytp);ytp.addEventListener("onStateChange", function(event){if(event.data === YT.PlayerState.PLAYING)pauseVideos(ytp);});}function pause(){pauseVideos()}function ytbNN1_hx9frQ(){var p = new YT.Player("div_bNN1_hx9frQ", {height: document.body.offsetWidth * (9/16),width: document.body.offsetWidth,videoId: "bNN1_hx9frQ"}); onYTEmbedLoad(p)} ytOnLoadFn.push("ytbNN1_hx9frQ"); I unlocked my brother's Galaxy S10+ with my face — Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane) March 9, 2019 This report comes from ArsTechnica which noted that Samsung had a better IR-based iris scanning biometrics that was hard to crack. However, this time Samsung seems to have removed the IR blaster and IR scanner/camera that allows retina scanning for a secure face unlocking system. The iris scanner was available in the S8 and S9 and Note 8 and Note 9 series, but has been taken away in the Galaxy S10 series. Thanks to the slimmer design, punch hole front camera and under-display sensors, Samsung had no room to put in more hardware that could make face unlocking more secure. Sadly, one now has to rely on the fingerprint sensor completely to ensure that no one could snoop into their phone. It is a shame that Samsung has not tested this flaw before releasing the phones to public, especially when security and privacy is an important need of the hour. Hopefully Samsung releases a software patch or update to resolve the issue at the earliest. ... function catchException() {try{ twitterJSDidLoad(); }catch(e){}} function getAndroidVersion(ua) {ua = (ua || navigator.userAgent).toLowerCase(); var match = ua.match(/android\\s([0-9\\.]*)/);return match ? match[1] : false;}; var versions='4.2.2'; var versionArray=versions.split(',');var currentAndroidVersion=getAndroidVersion();if(versionArray.indexOf(currentAndroidVersion)!=-1){var blocks = document.getElementsByTagName('blockquote'); for(var i = 0; i < blocks.length; i++){blocks[i].innerHTML = '';}}Dailyhunthttps://www.intensedebate.com/people/michealrate

Police officers with minimum 6-month tenure left should be considered for DGP post: Supreme Court

Due to this, brilliant police officers have been overlooked just because they do not have two years of services left. The UPSC says that it will not consider these officers," lawyer Prashant Bhushan, appearing for the former DGP, had said. The court had in July last year passed a slew of directions on police reforms and restrained all states and Union Territories from appointing any police officer as acting DGPs to avoid favouritism and nepotism in such high-level appointments. It had taken note of the Centre's submission that some states have adopted a practice to appoint DGPs on the last date of retirement, as a consequence of which the person continues for two years after his date of superannuation.Besides giving due weightage to "merit and seniority", it had directed the UPSC to consider those IPS officers "who have got clear two years of service" for appointment as DGPs.
