'Great players come up with solutions quickly
'
That said, which has been the team to beat?A It's too early to say anything definitely, but teams from Spain have done well in recent years. Winners of the last three editions, Real Madrid, are out this time, but FC Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid remain in the hunt. So, the trophy may again go to Spain or, well, to England as Manchester City have generally been playing a good brand of football.[The Uefa Champions League matches, by the way, are being telecast on Sony Pictures Networks India.]Q How closely do you follow the EPL?A I keep a watch on the results and the standings, but don't follow every match. Where the leagues go, I'm a keen follower of the La Liga (Spain), Italy's Serie A and the Primeira Liga (Portugal). I didn't play in England, but featured in the leagues I've mentioned.Q It's a tight race between the 2018 EPL winner Manchester City and Liverpool...A Liverpool, I suppose, could be more motivated as they last won in 1990. In Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino they have great strikers... Manchester City are extremely well organised and capable of winning big. Of course, it's a keen race for the title.Q What goes into winning mega tournaments or leagues?A (Emphatically) There's no substitute for a solid team. That's No.1... Then, where individual players are concerned, fitness becomes a challenge as they have commitments with their respective clubs and must also make themselves available for national duty. It becomes more challenging in a World Cup year.Q How should greatness be judged?A If there's a problem or an issue, great players come up with solutions quickly... Great players make a difference when most needed. They make things happen.Q Well, who is the greatest? Pele, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo?A You've asked such a difficult question... Those names are there, then you could add Zinedine Zidane... Some others as well... It's very tough to choose and I'd prefer not to pick one above the rest... You see, all the names talked about have set one record or the other and their place (in history) is assured.Q Your take on fellow-Portuguese Ronaldo... Indeed, what sets him apart?A Clearly, Cristiano is one of the biggest anywhere to grace a football pitch. He scores in such fantastic numbers, keeps making the difference.Q Early on, who inspired you?A Zico... Michael Laudrup... Others too.Q Best moment?A Each time the team I played for won. So, fortunately, there were many best moments.Q Does corruption in football, fixing and so on, make you angry?A It's not about how I feel. If somebody breaks the law or breaches any rule, then he will face consequences. He will have to pay the price... It's about justice being done.Q Football in India... The wait to make it to the next level continues... Your thoughts?A I'll be honest... I don't know much about the football scene in India. What I do know is that there's a league (ISL) which attracts players and coaches from Europe and other parts of the globe... My view is that the national federation has to create the best environment. Maybe, it has... I don't know.Q Cricket is huge...A That I do know... Cricket is the No.1 sport in your country.Q Are you aware that Portugal is an Associate member of the ICC, which is the equivalent of Fifa?A (Laughs) Really? I didn't know... Perhaps, I could start a career in cricket... Is there an age restriction or, even at the age of 46, I can start with bat and ball?Q A sport you keep track of, besides football, obviously?A Golf. I play a bit myself.Q That's interesting... Favourite in golf?A There's Sergio Garcia... Actually, the entire Team Europe, winners of the Ryder Cup... Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose... All.Q Finally... How should one describe you?A You could say I'm a friend of friends... That I try to be the best I can be... You could say I look to be a good person. At all times. PewDiePie vs T-Series: YouTuber dethroned, but only for five minutes
PewDiePie and T-Series are both leading with almost 89 million subscribers. The live count for both YouTube channels show a difference of around 12,000 subscribers. PewDiePie who is known for his funny antics on YouTube started his campaign back in October when T-Series was cutting it close with 66 million subscribers. The Swedish YouTuber was backed up by his crazy army of fans who took campaigning to the next level. PewDiePie's fans ran billboards, hacked printers and even made it to the Super Bowl urging people to subscribe to his channel. T-Series which has been quietly gaining subscribers recently broke silence with the CEO Bhushan Kumar appealing to Indians through a video. This was followed by Indian Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham sharing their support. These actors shared videos on Twitter urging people to subscribe to T-Series to make it the top YouTube channel. var embedId = {jw:[],yt:[],dm:[]};function pauseVideos(vid){var players=Object.keys(embedId); players.forEach(function (key){var ids=embedId[key]; switch (key){case "jw": ids.forEach(function (id){if (id !=vid){var player = jwplayer(id); if(player.getState() === "playing"){player.pause();}}}); break; case "yt": ids.forEach(function (id){if (id !=vid){id.pauseVideo();}}); break;case "dm": ids.forEach(function (id){if (id !=vid && !id.paused){id.pause();}}); break;}});}var ytOnLoadFn=[];function onYouTubePlayerAPIReady(){ytOnLoadFn.forEach(function(name){window[name]();});}function onYTEmbedLoad(ytp){embedId.yt.push(ytp);ytp.addEventListener("onStateChange", function(event){if(event.data === YT.PlayerState.PLAYING)pauseVideos(ytp);});}function pause(){pauseVideos()}

T-Series has been aggressively coming close to PewDiePie who has so far managed to remain at the top. Although the Indian music label crossed PewDiePie's subscriber count, it could only do so for a few minutes. function catchException() {try{ twitterJSDidLoad(); }catch(e){}} function getAndroidVersion(ua) {ua = (ua || navigator.userAgent).toLowerCase(); var match = ua.match(/android\\s([0-9\\.]*)/);return match ? match[1] : false;}; var versions='4.2.2'; var versionArray=versions.split(',');var currentAndroidVersion=getAndroidVersion();if(versionArray.indexOf(currentAndroidVersion)!=-1){var blocks = document.getElementsByTagName('blockquote'); for(var i = 0; i < blocks.length; i++){blocks[i].innerHTML = '';}} function getAndroidVersion(ua) {ua = (ua || navigator.userAgent).toLowerCase(); var match = ua.match(/android\\s([0-9\\.]*)/);return match ? match[1] : false;}; var versions='4.2.2'; var versionArray=versions.split(',');var currentAndroidVersion=getAndroidVersion();if(versionArray.indexOf(currentAndroidVersion)!=-1){var blocks = document.getElementsByTagName('blockquote'); for(var i = 0; i < blocks.length; i++){blocks[i].innerHTML = '';}}Dailyhunthttps://www.darkreading.com/profile.asp?piddl_userid=333436
NASA's first all-female spacewalk on March 29: Everything you need to know
The ground support will be provided by flight director Mary Lawrence and Kristen Facciol in the US space agency's Johnson Space Center in Texas. 'I just found out that I'll be on console providing support for the FIRST ALL FEMALE SPACEWALK with @AstroAnnimal and @Astro_Christina and I can not contain my excitement,' Facciol said in a tweet. NASA, which is celebrating March as the Women's History Month, has a dedicated page for information on women working in various fields such as engineering, space, mathematics, etc at the space agency. The all-female spacewalk announcement comes as on the heels on International Women's Day, which is celebrated on March 8 every year. To recall, NASA astronaut, Sally Ride was the first American woman in space. She launched in space with four other crew mates on mission STS-7 in 1983.

A total of 213 spacewalks have been performed at the International Space Station since December 1998. Ahead of of the all-female spacewalk, McClain will also spacewalk with NASA astronaut Nick Hague on March 22. Last year, a total of eight spacewalks were held, with the longest lasting for eight hours and 13 minutes. function catchException() {try{ twitterJSDidLoad(); }catch(e){}} function getAndroidVersion(ua) {ua = (ua || navigator.userAgent).toLowerCase(); var match = ua.match(/android\\s([0-9\\.]*)/);return match ? match[1] : false;}; var versions='4.2.2'; var versionArray=versions.split(',');var currentAndroidVersion=getAndroidVersion();if(versionArray.indexOf(currentAndroidVersion)!=-1){var blocks = document.getElementsByTagName('blockquote'); for(var i = 0; i < blocks.length; i++){blocks[i].innerHTML = '';}}Dailyhunthttps://visual.ly/users/yozkelvozkeeneens16/portfolio

White noise
It is immediate, it has dimension. It tells you what to think and blasts it in. It must be right. It seems so right. It rushes you on so quickly to its own conclusions your mind hasn't time to protest, 'What nonsense!'.' Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 as a commentary on how mass media reduces interest in reading literature but considering the times we live in, it is doing more than that. Following the February 14 Jaish-e-Mohammed fidayeen attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama that left 44 Indian soldiers dead, most television news channels bayed for blood. There is no denying that the national emotions were running high and it was only natural for citizens of a nation that have been at the receiving end of a proxy war conducted by a neighbour that as a national policy believes in causing loss of life in India to ask for a befitting reply. Yet the fashion in which many news anchors assumed the mantle of judge, jury, and executioner was nothing less than appalling. The constant white noise emanating from most news debates, where everyone was urged to shout louder than the next person, offers a greater emotional bounty to the one who would teach Pakistan a lesson and this showed a committed effort from media to not allow the average citizen a moment to think. As someone who grew up in an era where television, at least 24x7 news channels, were not as omnipresent or potent, I belong to a breed that does not disregard what is presented as news. In fact, many like me have to still, at times, remind ourselves of concepts such as 'fake news' because, for a lot of Indians, the written word (read a newspaper but also include mass media) still persists. In that sense, a television news channel is nothing less than an extension of same and consequently, anything transmitted on the airwaves is still of great value. One of the great chroniclers of our contemporary history who uses certain non-fiction facts to augment storytelling, Dan Brown, wrote in Angels & Demons —the media is the right arm of anarchy. He might not have been too off. Some would say it's not all that bad or it's just TV, then do consider why a six-decade-old work of fiction makes more sense or a five-decade-old film, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, where a trigger-happy American General refusing to comply with the US President gives the go-ahead to drop the bomb on the then USSR, seems plausible thanks to the incumbent US President, Donald J Trump, merrily tweeting about bombing North Korea in response to their threat to bomb the US. Sensationalism in the name of news is dangerous for it's easy to be fooled into knowing something, the difficult part is to understand. May in final push to convince lawmakers
Back this motion and get the deal done…We cannot serve our country by overturning a democratic decision of the British people,' she said, hours after claiming a breakthrough in negotiations with the EU to secure changes to the controversial Irish backstop to make it more acceptable to all sides of the Commons. Opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn countered that it was the same 'bad deal' MPs had rejected in January and that his party would be voting against it again because it risks people's living standards and jobs. The clash came soon after UK Attorney-General Geoffrey Cox confirmed that the legal risk from the controversial Irish backstop 'remains unchanged', leading to hard-Brexiteers from within May's own Conservative Party refusing to back the so-called 'improved' divorce arrangement, leaving Britain's exit from the EU still precariously poised ahead of the March 29 Brexit deadline. In a last-minute dash to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Monday night, May emerged alongside European Commission President Jean Claude-Juncker to declare that the UK and EU have agreed 'legally binding' changes to the controversial Irish backstop clause to ensure any such arrangement would not be permanent. The move was aimed at addressing the concerns of hard-Brexiteers in her own Conservative Party and the Northern Irish Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), which provides her government with its majority in the House of Commons. 'MPs were clear that legal changes were needed to the backstop. Today we have secured legal changes. Now is the time to come together to back this improved Brexit deal,' May said at a joint press conference with Juncker. Brexiteers from within her party and the DUP had refused to comment if they feel the changes she has secured will be enough for them to vote in favour of the deal before they take full legal advice on the changes. UK's chief legal advisor Attorney General Geoffrey Cox said the extra assurances won by May do "reduce the risk that the UK could be indefinitely and involuntarily detained" in the backstop if talks on the two sides' future relationship broke down due to "bad faith" by the EU. However, the 'legal risk remains unchanged" if no such deal can be reached. Dailyhunthttps://tapas.io/yozkelvozkeeneens12
