Mystic Mantra: Meditation and contemplation
While both are styles of prayer, the fundamental distinction between meditation and contemplation is that meditation is a human mode of prayer whereas contemplation is divinely infused. It means that during meditation one uses pictures, ideas and reasoning to essentially consider created things on the subject of God via human effort. Such an hobby can open us to interior devotion and longing for God and directing our lives. Interestingly, meditation is supposed to result in contemplative prayer. Spiritual masters and mystics tell us that contemplation is not a prayer that we can initiate or make occur. It is divinely produced. The motion here belongs to God. The simplest work we do is to dispose ourselves to receive God's graces. At this level one enters into a wordless prayer, an awareness of the divine visitor within through a understanding, loving and deep communion with God. It is a prayer of quiet calmness in which we drink deeply, as it were, on the existence-giving fount. The Catechism of the Catholic Church summarises meditation as, 'a prayerful quest engaging concept, creativeness, emotion and desire. Its goal is to make our own in faith the challenge considered with the aid of confronting it with the reality of our very own life'. 'Contemplative prayer', then again, 'is the simplest expression of the thriller of prayer. It is a gift, a grace; it is able to be regularly occurring simplest in humility and poverty. Contemplative prayer is a covenant courting established by God within our hearts'. Put greater surely, meditation facilitates us to recognize God and contemplation helps us to love him. Let us be also clean that meditation and contemplation are not contrary to one another. Meditation can be considered a stepping-stone to reach at contemplation. As the e-book of Isaiah says: 'For my mind are not your mind, neither are your approaches my methods, says the Lord.' And again St. Paul says: 'Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and know-how of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!' Our efforts must, but, continue to get as near God as possible. H11 Dailyhunt
