University of Mysore gets 200 enquiries for distance education courses even after deadline
With a large range of responses after the deadline, the college authorities have approached UGC for an extension of the closing date. "We have written to the UGC for an extension citing the confined time we were given in addition to the Dasara holidays because the reasons," said Dr Guru. According to him, the university got very less time for admissions. "We were given the approvals from UGC on October 3 and we released an advertisement on October 10. The remaining date for admissions become October 20 and in between there were Dasara vacations. We handiest got six days to take admissions. We are hopeful that UGC will expand our closing dates thinking about our problems," he said. Dr Guru stated the college has been getting enquiries from locations as a ways as Kalaburagi, Bidar and Mangaluru. Now, the authorities are expecting the respond from UGC to start the route. "We have now not commenced the distance schooling guides as we're anticipating the response on extension. Even if we do not get a move ahead, we are able to start the courses immediately upon getting the response from UGC," said Dr Guru. However, the nearby Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) has already were given 12,000 enrolments this year for its publications.
