Hyderabad: Police chief holds talks with Muslim leaders

While all members agreed that they are for peace and were willing to co-operate, Mr Amjedullah Khan of Majlis Bachao Tehreek said, 'We are going to maintain peace but we also conveyed that the government must allow us to have dharnas. Mr Syed Hamid Hussain Jaffery of he Shia Youth Conference suggested that certain areas with mixed communities of Shahinayathgunj, Begum Bazaar, Nampally and Asifnagar should be closely monitored. There is a need to involve more people and it was insisted that another meeting be called and another round of discussions must take place ahead of the judgment. The members stated that presently there is a lot of concern about Milad-un-Nabia which is the birthday of Prophet Mohammed and they are very keen that it must pass peacefully. ...
